When I look at the cynicism evident today toward people in leadership positions, it is easy to realize that an open and unapologetically human and vulnerable leader is a rare commodity and even more rare when they engender the trust and support of the people around them by creating environments that value people. Because so many of the old rules and structures are continuing to break down, top leaders now have to rely on their inner compass even while they are being challenged to operate at their peak performance levels in the moment. Leading from the emerging future is an essential skill, as it turns out, and using intuition and incubation in your decision making becomes more necessary as the rate of change only increases.
As a consequence, I’m arriving at a more refined understanding about human nature and the nature of change. Awareness of energy, ours and others, as well as collective forces, allow us as leaders to influence in a more positive way and utilize our hidden talents with more awareness. I’m convinced that understanding the influence of ‘energy’ is critical; intention, attention, and resonance are the influencers underneath the appearance of tasks and people and the concept of Executive Presence. That’s why I love using traditional assessment tools in interesting new ways, so that we bring up unconscious patterns of interference and new opportunities for ourselves to grow.
In working with leaders who are mired in the intensity and overwhelm of ‘no time’ and over-work, to maintain their balance and a sense of their capacities in the name of making a contribution, I have found that using an integral approach to create coherence, internally and externally, is quite effective for helping create change in themselves and in others.
What can you learn with a coach? (I work both in English and Spanish)

Setting direction – Clarifying your vision, values, mission, purpose in life and work

Increasing your influence without authority – managing relationships, motivating others, communicating effectively, coaching others
Improving performance – soliciting feedback, analyzing impact, changing behavior, measuring results, measuring gaps
Developing your own talent / intangible assets – reputation, ideas, attitude, emotional intelligence, cultural savvy
Managing change – becoming more adaptable and flexible, aligning stakeholders, communicating a clear vision, managing personal blocks to action
Assessing results – assessment, evaluation and goal setting
